An inside look at the gallery
The Gallery La Fayette was established in early 1995 by Khun Yupa Khumprom, a well travelled local Samui resident, together with a long time friend Mr Klaus Harmuth, from Germany and a resident of Samui for some 7 years. The partners combined their talents and appreciation for the arts and set up their first small gallery in Lamai Beach, Koh Samui. Despite the size of premises and poor location, word spread fast and the gallery quickly became known as a reliable source for high quality reproductions from such artists as Da Vinci, Klimt, Monet, Renoir, and Van Gogh to name a few.
Within a few short months it was clear that a larger studio was needed and hence the move to the present location in Chaweng Beach. More artists were sought to meet the growing demand for the high quality works. But as it was essential to maintain the standards already set, only artists with the greatest talent were taken on. As time went on the group of artists developed into a close-nit team with a reputation of being able to reproduce just about any artwork from any artist to standards second to none.
All of our paintings are produced using only the finest European canvas and quality English oil colours.
Today, Gallery La Fayette is a well known and respected icon on Samui and has developed into an international business, providing reproduction art to customers and galleries worldwide.
